About Amanda Mowery

I grew up with ADHD, My whole life I felt stupid or rejected. Growing up I wish I had the skills, That have Now at 39. I just graduated College with a Human Service assistant certificate. I will Be working with adults with all disabilities, in a day Hab setting. While I was at school I would be at my local libraries doing research on differences lessons on skills and ideas. I had a hard time coming up with activities for adults with disabilities. I only came up with stuff for children. So while I was thinking about how it amazing for a Library dedicated to all disabilities. So That where SOCIAL SKILLS AND HUMAN SERVICE LIBRARY 4 DISABILITIES (SSAHSL4DISABILITIES) Begin. I want to create a Library where everyone can come and learn Life skills and interact with all disabilities. I want children to Learn Coping skills and understand why they have a Disability. I want to see training and education classes, Talks and fun activities with Therapies of different skills. Where Parents, Professionals, Adults Educators, Caretakers/home health providers( home staff). Are able to come to talk to each other. get training, classes, Seminars. As well as come find answers to what they need to Help Loveones or clients. I want to see Sensory skills and Communication skills, classes in friendship skills and many other things. A Lot of people were born with A disabilities, What the World can do is STAND UP FOR THOSE WHO CAN NOT DO IT THEMSELVES. Stand Up and Make the world Not Judge someone who does not have the coping skills to live in a world that is always Watching and picking out the flaws in life. One that a child who has Autism or Down Syndrome, Has a Speech impairment or cannot hear or see. When the adults who can not stand Loud Noises in the community because it sets of fear or tics. They do not understand that why someone is Mean to them and shuns them I want to see a world come together and teach Love and Hope and Faith in oneself to get to live on their own. This is just the beginning of my Dream. I see a Library with all disabilities in rooms, I see a community center and an enrichment recreation center. A Library and a Research Center.
